Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson love shipping their Marvel characters
Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson have delighted their queer followers by repeatedly tweeting fan art of their Marvel characters as a couple.
Larson and Thompson, who play Captain Marvel and Thor: Ragnarok‘s bisexual hero Valkyrie respectively, have posted two images which ship their superhero characters together.
The first piece of art shows Captain Marvel cradling Valkyrie against a background of bisexual colours.
Larson quote-tweeted the creation on March 18, writing: “We cute @TessaThompson_x.” Thompson responded by quote-tweeting her post, adding the caption: “WHAT. we so cute @brielarson.”

The bisexual artist who created the image, Bev Johnson, responded to the recognition by simply tweeting: “!!!!” She later added that she was “shook.”
On March 21, Thompson spotted another piece of art gloriously shipping Valkyrie and Captain Marvel.
She tweeted the GIF, which shows rainbows appearing on the women as they stand together, with the caption: “Oh wow. @brielarson we back.”

Larson retweeted Thompson’s post, but the actress wasn’t done yet. On March 24, Larson shared a GIF of Captain Marvel characters Carol Danvers and Maria Rambeau, who is played by Lashana Lynch.
Many fans have shipped Carol and Maria, even if their relationship was not explicitly romantic on screen in Captain Marvel.
The retweet from Larson and subsequent like from Thompson led the animation’s creator, a gay woman called Monika, to write: “I’m yelling what is Brie doing MY HEART.”
She added: “not to sound dramatic, but my heart is beating for Brie Larson” before tweeting on Tuesday (March 26) that “my brain is still not fully processing what happened this week… Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson liked my little gay art… WHAT.”
Fans were ecstatic about Brie Larson and Tessa Thompson validating their ship
Followers of the Marvel actresses were stunned and delighted by the retweets.
One fan tweeted at Larson: “BRIE YOU KNOW WHAT YOU’RE DOING TO US.”
“Me before: does Brie Larson know what she’s done to the lesbians. Me now: oh, she knows.”

A different user commented: “brie really said carolvalkyrie rights!”
Fans were equally ecstatic about Thompson’s tweets, with one person saying: “tessa i just want u to know that i owe you my life. thank you for my lesbianism.”
Another said: “You becoming active just to support this is the best thing to ever happen.”
A different tweeter wrote: “It’s so beautiful. I’m gonna cry ❤,” while another commenter said: “if you think i’m living for these little soft interactions then you’re absolutely RIGHT.”
The ship was also endorsed by Don Cheadle, who plays War Machine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In response to a fan who asked what he thought of Valkyrie and Captain Marvel getting together, Cheadle tweeted: “the heart wants what the heart wants…”
