Geri Halliwell denies she had sex with Mel B

Mel B and Geri Halliwell accept the Spice Girls award for 'Brits Performance of 30 Years' on stage at The Brit Awards 2010 at Earls Court on February 16, 2010 in London, England.

Geri Halliwell has denied Mel B’s claim that the pair had a sexual encounter, calling it “disappointing.”

Last month, it emerged that Mel B had implied she had sex with Halliwellā€”now Geri Hornerā€”during an interview with Piers Morgan for his Life Stories show.

But Horner has rejected the claim that she engaged in a sexual fling with Mel B at the height of the Spice Girlsā€™ fame.

Geri Halliwell denies sexual encounter claim from Mel B

In a statement given to the MailOnline on Sunday, a spokesperson said: “It has been very disappointing to read about all these rumours again, especially on Motherā€™s Day of all days.

“What has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.”

“Geri loves the Spice Girls: Emma, Melanie, Melanie and Victoria. She would like [the fans] to know that what has been reported recently is simply not true and has been very hurtful to her family.”

The statement continued: “Moving forward, Geri canā€™t wait to see the girls and all the fans on the tour, have an amazing time with everyone, and make some new memories.”

Mel B said she hoped Halliwell wouldn’t reject the claim

When she was interviewed by Morgan, Mel B said that ā€œhopefully when Geri gets asked that, which hopefully she will after this, she wonā€™t deny it.ā€

ā€œBecause it was just a fun thing,ā€ added Mel B.

She said the sexual incident with Halliwell happened only ā€œone time.ā€

In 2014, she revealed that she had a four-year relationship with a woman before meeting her husband.

She told The Guardian: ā€œI did have a four-year relationship with a woman. But Iā€™ve been very happily married for seven years to a penis. Ha ha! An amazing guy.

ā€œIā€™ve definitely not been shy or been one to hold back. If I wanted to try something, I did. I had a girlfriend. So what?ā€

When asked if she was a lesbian on TV show Alan Carrā€™s Chatty Man, she said: ā€œI would not call it that. I was just one of those ladies. Now Iā€™m happily married.

ā€œPeople call me lesbian, bisexual or heterosexual, but I know whoā€™s in my bed and thatā€™s it… I have a huge libido and a great sex life.ā€

Mel Bā€™s comments to Morgan came as the band prepares for a UK-wide reunion tour without Posh Spice Victoria Beckham.

Mel B, Emma Bunton, Halliwell and Mel C will reunite for the June 2019 tour, supported by Jess Glynne, which will see the band perform in London, Manchester, and Edinburgh.
