Lady Gaga drops Chromatica and it’s a gay rights manifesto, therapy session and skincare regime all rolled into one

Lady Gaga Chromatica release Twitter fan reaction

Lady Gaga has finally released Chromatica, and the internet is absolutely freaking out.

It has been three years, seven months and eight days since queen of the LGBT+ community Lady Gaga last blessed us with an album — and finally, we have entered the world of Chromatica.

That isn’t to say we’ve gone completely without music from the star since then – who could forget A Star Is Born – but this is her first album as a solo artist since 2016’s Joanne.

Chromatica, Lady Gaga’s long-awaited (and delayed) sixth album, includes duets with Ariana Grande, Elton John and BLACKPINK.

We were well and truly ready for Mother Monster to lift us into the stratosphere with a return to her trademark, infectious dance-pop – and it’s fair to say that fans are absolutely gagged now that it’s here.

Lady Gaga fans pulled all-nighters.

Countless Little Monsters stayed up until midnight in their various time-zones so they could hear the acclaimed singer-songwriter’s latest effort before going to sleep.

And judging by Twitter, Chromatica was well and truly worth it.

If you haven’t had a chance to listen to Chromatica yet it’s not too hard to summarise: Lady Gaga basically said “gay rights!”

Fans were quick to share their favourite Chromatica tracks, with many praising out the Elton John duet, “Sine From Above”, and the closer, “Babylon”.

The album is also helping some fans cope with life in general, which is definitely a good thing in these difficult times the world is going through.

Fans are also completely freaking out over the transition between “Chromatica II” and “911”, which is a moment of arguably unparalleled greatness.

As well as being a truly transcendent pop experience, Chromatica can also apparently give you good skin, according to one fan – so what are you waiting for? Go and stream it.

The album release comes just a week after Lady Gaga released her Ariana Grande duet “Rain On Me”, completed with a dramatic and rain-filled music video.

She proceeded to drop her BLACKPINK duet “Sour Candy” Thursday (May 28) without any warning after a snippet of the song leaked online.

All of this came after Lady Gaga kicked off the Chromatica experience with the lead single “Stupid Love” in February.

In a recent interview with Zane Lowe for Apple Music Beats 1, the “Shallow” hitmaker explained that she channelled her “extremely painful” past relationships into the new record.

“I’m making a dance record again and this dance floor… it’s mine, I earned it, and all that stuff that I went through,” she said.

“I don’t have to feel pain about it anymore, it can just be apart of me and I can keep going.”

She also took time out of her busy schedule to explain the title and artwork of her brand new album to Lowe.
“The symbol for Chromatica has a sine wave in it, which is the mathematical symbol for sound, and it’s from what all sound is made from, and, for me, sound is what healed me in my life period, and it healed me again making this record, and that is really what Chromatica is all about,” she said.

“It’s about healing and it’s about bravery as well and it’s really like, when we talk about love I think it’s so important to include the fact that it requires a ton of bravery to love someone.”
