Superman’s boyfriend gives him beautiful rainbow cape in special Pride comic

Superman of Earth Jon Kent gets an LGBT+ inspired cape upgrade thanks to his boyfriend in a new DC Pride comic.
Kent and his boyfriend, Jay Nakamura, appear in the highly-anticipated DC Pride 2022, which will hit stores later this month.
Colourist Tríona Tree Farrell shared a few comic book panels on Twitter detailing a sweet moment in which Kent touches down on a roof as Nakamura, who’s wearing a Pride heart shirt, waits patiently with a gift for his boyfriend.
Kent – who is the son of original Superman Clark Kent and Lois Lane – opens the present and pulls out a new Superman cape with the colours of various Pride flags – including the pansexual, bisexual, trans, ace and non-binary flags – stitched on the inside.
The young hero appears thrilled with the gift as he shares a smile.

Farrell wrote on Twitter that she’d always “wanted to work on a Superman comic” and was “SO happy” to have worked on DC Pride anthology.
Jon Kent came out as bisexual last year in Superman: Son of Kal-El #5 after he struck up a friendship – which soon became a romantic relationship – with Nakamura.
Superman: Son of Kal-El writer Tom Taylor proudly declared that “everyone deserves to see themselves in their heroes” and was “very grateful” DC and Warner Bros agreed to the storyline.
“Superman’s symbol has always stood for hope, for truth and for justice,” Taylor said. “Today, that symbol represents something more.”
He added: “Today, more people can see themselves in the most powerful superhero in comics.”
Nakamura is a young reporter who runs the news site The Truth and helps to expose the corruption that other media outlets would rather not touch. He is also a refugee from an island nation of Gamorra, and it’s revealed that Nakamura even has some powers of his own.
Kent recently shared another milestone in his journey – coming out to his mum.
In Superman: Son of Kal-El #10, Kent is continuing to deal with the fall out of his dad, Clark Kent, leaving Earth to fight evil elsewhere.
He’s trying to handle saving others when villain Lex Luther accuses him of murdering another hero.
Kent clears his name and proves that he didn’t kill the superhero with the help of his mom, Screen Rant reported. Later, Nakamura asks if Kent has told Lois about his sexuality.
Nakamura even offers to hold Kent’s hand after the hero says he’s scared to tell his mum. Lane sees the pair holding hands, and she eventually embraces her son saying that she’s always loved “every single part of you”.
DC Pride 2022 will also debut a new LGBT+ hero as Connor Hawke, Green Arrow’s son, will come out publicly as asexual during an epic fight with villain Music Meister. As the two battle, Hawke creates a heartfelt coming out letter to his mum.
The eight-page comic, titled “Think of Me”, was created by asexual creative team Ro Stein, Ted Brandt and Frank Cvetkovic. Brandt explained that it was an “extra little bit of help” to have the “entire team be asexual”, and he said it felt like the comic was a “personal story for all of us on some level” as a result.
