Demi Lovato says her lesbian kiss with Kehlani was ‘perfect’
Demi Lovato has opened up about her kiss with singer Kehlani, calling it “perfect.”
The Confident singer surprised and delighted fans with the kiss, which came at a concert in New Jersey on the last stop of her tour of the US on Monday.
The 25-year-old longtime LGBT advocate revealed last year that she was open to dating women, saying: “That’s how I’ve always felt.”
Last month, Demi explained more about her sexuality, saying: “I’m very fluid, and I think love is love. You can find it in any gender. I like the freedom of being able to flirt with whoever I want.”
And on Monday night, she displayed her sexuality for all to see.

Demi was delighted as Kehlani, who is openly queer, came up behind her while she was on a bed on stage and embraced her.
The 22-year-old singer, who features on lesbian superstar Hayley Kiyoko’s new album Expectations with the banger What I Need, then leaned in to kiss Demi – who kissed her right back.
They then cuddled before Demi mounted Kehlani to grind away on top of her.
On Twitter, Demi wrote: “Truly so grateful to have had this extremely special, talented and cool as fuck woman on this tour with me.. What an incredible fun sexy crazy night that I’ll never forget!! ”
And speaking to Nick Grimshaw on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show, the Sorry Not Sorry singer said: “She came up behind me and I had no idea.
“She told me she was going to be watching the show so I was looking for her and I didn’t see her out there.
“So I was like ‘I guess she decided to go,’ or whatever.
“Then all of a sudden, I feel hands on my shoulders for the song called Lonely and I look up and it’s her,” she added.
“And I don’t know, we just kissed each other. Like, it wasn’t planned – she totally surprised me.”

“It was perfect. It was awesome.”
Grimshaw compared it to when Madonna surprised Drake with a kiss at Coachella in 2015, but Demi said the two were different for one important reason.
“But it looked like he didn’t like it,” she pointed out.
“I liked it.”
Before last year, Lovato had previously resisted attempts to label her sexual orientation.
Demi has also been reluctant to open up about the lyrics to her song Cool for the Summer, which many say has Sapphic undertones, and certainly contains bisexual lighting.
The song’s lyrics include: “Got a taste for the cherry / I just need to take a bite,” and “I’m a little curious, too / tell me if it’s wrong, if it’s right / I don’t care / I can keep a secret, can you?”
When Alan Carr asked whether the song was about same-sex relationships, Lovato said: “I’m not confirming, and I’m definitely not denying.”
Demi has long been an LGBT activist though, as seen when she chose Danica Roem, the first transgender person to be elected to the Virginia House of Representatives, to be her date to the American Music Awards.
The 25-year-old star said: “We connected because I heard her story – and when I heard [it] I was just completely inspired by it.”
The singer also helped gay couple Rayvon Owen and Shane Bitney to get engaged during one of her concerts over the weekend.
